Barringer Bar & Lounge
Barringer is the newest speakeasy bar to join the blossoming Main Street movement. Located above Clutch City Squire, you can enter from a blue door on the side of the building or through a staircase inside Clutch City.
You might think it’s counterintuitive to open a bar literally on top of another, Clutch City, but Barringer offers a more sophisticated atmosphere and pricier drinks made with premium liquors. Barringer offers a selection of beer, wine and libations.
The building was built in 1913, and used to be home to Barringer Norton Tailors, the namesake for the bar. The décor complements the hundred-year-old building with antique furniture and photos. There is also a small stage that is used for live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights.
• Not sure what to order? We suggest the Jameson Moscow mule that is served in the traditional copper mug.
• They host events like the Bourbon and Bacon pop up, so be sure to check out their website http://barringerhouston.com/
